Get international!

Da sich in letzter Zeit nicht wirklich viele atemberaubende Sachen in der Go-Welt tun (abgesehen von meinen Abschlussprüfungen), gibt es diesmal einige interessante Ideen aus dem GoDiscussions.com-Forum. Da wäre zunächst einmal das überaus ambitionierte Vorhaben von miraklemax (seines Zeichens ein namhaftes Mitglied der AGA). Er möchte gern ein internationales Go-Magazin (in Heftform) auf den Markt bringen und sucht zur Zeit noch Leute die interessiert wären ihn zu unterstützen. Das ganze soll Folgendes beinhalten:

• Magazine will be multi-media. Some articles will be text only, some text and static imagery, some text and video (again, in multiple languages), some containing attached PDFs, docs, game files, demo applications, and etc.
• Magazine will be supported by modest subscription price and advertisements (possible banner ads, though not big ones as I personally hate those).
• Magazine will be off-line...so you can download issues and read them anywhere
• "Normal" articles will be printable in a simple format so you can read them away from your computer also.
• Contributors will be paid
• Staff needed in America, Japan, Korea and China for starters to cover all of the major go scenes (the US being the smallest at present, of course).
• There will be some kind of licensing and copy protection to minimize piracy).
• Reviews will be thorough and objective (software reviews will use qualified systems to test them, do speed tests, unit testing etc). Book reviews (and all reviews for that matter) will be based on a standardized "point" system so that reviews are consistent and fair). Items will get from 1-5 stones as a review (what else?)
• The format could be used to digitize all existing go books such that all of the game commentaries and variations and such would be easier to follow for beginner-advanced players and "come alive" a bit more.
